New construction
As a region sees more and more development, there is more construction
on marginal sites. Suitable bearing soil may only exist at depths greater
than normal. Adjacent structures may preclude the use of H-Piles or
poured concrete foundations. Foundation designers may also need to consider
potential problems related to anchoring as well as to bearing.
Helical Pier® Foundation Systems manufactured by CHANCE® offer
an excellent solution to these problems. They can provide anchor capacity
for building structures and towers subjected to wind loads and can be
used in bearing applications for new foundations.
Design should include professional engineering input and site specific
soil information. The design for ultimate and allowable bearing or anchor
loads for helical products is established by classical geotechnical
theory, supplemented by empirical data developed from field load tests.
Other applications for this product include foundation support for
signs and light standards, slab underpinning, and column underpinning.
